Poland-based U Know Me Records stands for freshness and high quality. Deriving from JuNouMi Records – established in 2002, vinyl-only hip hop label- its priority has always been to set foot and make waves in the territory of new beats and electronic music. In the year 2010 the label spawned its first LP – Teielte’s groundbreaking debut album. Its outside-the-box sound design, unprecedented on Polish scene, has captivated audiences both locally and internationally.
Consistent investment in top-notch aesthetics brought about yet another successful release – Kixnare’s DoLP. Its popularity and sales balance in Poland were massively satisfying. At the same time its acclaim abroad was sky-rocketing. Recommended by record stores throughout Germany, England, Japan and the USA. What follows these two cross-genre milestones is a list of uppermost and supreme class records: Daniel Drumz’s EP (white 10″vinyl), Lower Entrance’s debut release (digital + 7″single), En2ak’s album, the veteran Envee’s single and Galus’ LP, which was one of the best records of 2011 in many Polish rankings. And all of that was just the beginning.
Furthermore, to top it all off, the label accentuates the vital role of graphic design of its products and thus constantly collaborates with the most inventive Polish artists. Every UKM release is a full blown work of art. The scope of U Know Me Records’ activity doesn’t stop here. In order to facilitate the local scene, regular parties featuring foreign musicians are thrown.
Future plans are mouth-watering and ultimately exciting and be sure UKM is going to cater for all tastes of ambitious sounds enthusiasts. It’s gone from Polish to worldwide already.
